CARTXIO Buyer Protection covers eligible orders paid on the Platform. It is built around one idea: the seller is paid only after you have received what you ordered. Orders paid outside the Platform are not covered.
1. How escrow works
- You pay on CARTXIO. The money is held with our payment partner and is not released to the seller.
- The seller dispatches and uploads tracking within 48 hours of order confirmation.
- The goods are delivered. A 48-hour condition-check window starts at delivery.
- If you raise no dispute in that window, the money is released to the seller (after fees and taxes).
- If you do raise a dispute, the money stays held until it is resolved.
2. What is covered
- Non-delivery: the order has not arrived within the maximum delivery time shown plus 5 days.
- Wrong item: you received something different from the listing or the manifest.
- Not as described: the condition, grade, brand, model or specification is materially different from the listing.
- Quantity mismatch: fewer units than you paid for.
- Damage in transit or damage that is not described in the listing.
- Counterfeit goods sold as genuine, with supporting evidence.
3. What is not covered
- Change of mind, or a better price elsewhere.
- Defects, wear or cosmetic issues that the listing, grade or manifest disclosed (for example "untested", "as is", "may have scratches").
- Minor variation in lots sold as mixed or by weight, within the tolerance stated in the listing.
- Loss or damage after you accept delivery, or caused by your handling, storage or use.
- Orders paid or negotiated outside CARTXIO.
- Delays caused by events outside anyone's control (strikes, natural events, government orders), though you may cancel an undispatched order.
4. How to raise a dispute
- Open the order in the app or website and choose "Problem with this order".
- Report damage, shortage, wrong item or condition issues promptly from the order page; voluntary returns follow the policy shown on the listing. For non-delivery, contact support after the stated delivery period.
- Say what is wrong and upload clear photos or video: the sealed package and label before opening, the contents, and the item defect. For lots with a manifest, a count against the manifest helps.
- Keep the packaging and the goods unused until the dispute is closed.
Report promptly. A dispute raised after the window may be rejected, and goods cannot be returned if they have been used, repacked or altered.
5. What happens next
- The seller has 72 hours to respond.
- Our team reviews the evidence from both sides and decides within 5 working days of the seller's response or the end of the response window.
- For condition disputes on orders above ₹50,000, an inspection report may be required; we can arrange an inspection and tell you the cost first.
- Outcomes: full refund, partial refund (a price adjustment you can accept), replacement, or the claim is declined with reasons.
- If a return is ordered, we will tell you how and where to return the goods. Return freight for an upheld claim is borne by the seller.
- Refunds go to the original payment method. Banks usually take 5-7 working days to credit them.
6. False claims and abuse
Raising a false or exaggerated claim, swapping goods, or manipulating evidence is a serious breach of the Terms. We may decline the claim, release the money to the seller, suspend the account and take legal action.
7. Your legal rights
Buyer Protection is in addition to, and does not reduce, your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 or other law. You may also approach the National Consumer Helpline on 1915 or the consumer commission.
